Audit Staff Accountant

Position: Staff Accountant

Requirements: Bachelors in Accounting/Masters and CPA preferred
Experience: Highly preferred or at minimum internship experience
Exempt Position
Job Duties:
- Examine and verify financial accounts such as cash, accounts payable and fixed assets to underlying reports and source documents.
- Document all audit tests and findings by completing audit work papers.
- Communicate audit progress, tests and findings to supervisor and act as liaison between supervising staff and the client.
- Improve compliance by recommending changes in management and accounting operation systems and internal control structure. Perform assigned tasks within budgeted time allotment.

Position: Staff Accountant

Exempt Position
Job Duties:
- Participate in the preparation and filing of multi-state income tax returns.
- Assist with preparation of Federal and State tax returns, C-Corporate and Partnership tax returns and tax accruals and File extensions and estimated payments.
- Voluntary Disclosures, form 5471; 8865.
- Corporate income tax functions.
- Complete the compliance, planning and accounting for Income Taxes.
- Assist with federal and state consolidated tax returns.
- Interface with Corporate operating companies.
- Identify and research tax issues using tax library and on-line tax services.
- Communicate and advise operating companies on tax related matters.
- Calculate tax basis and tax implications of proposed transactions.
- Contact, communicate and maintain relationships with tax authorities.
- Analyze tax accounts.
Qualified Candidates will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of related experience Preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
Junior Tax Accountant

Position: Non Exempt
Salary Range: $15.00-$23.00 hourly
This position is responsible for assisting the Tax Accountants in all accounting, bookkeeping and tax related matters for individual clients, trusts and corporate entities. The job responsibilities are but not limited to:
- Assisting in the preparation of simple to average tax returns in various niche areas
- Obtain basic tax knowledge in the areas of individual, partnership, S corporation, and C corporation taxation
- Become familiar with tax forms (1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, W-2, 1099)
- Learn tax processing procedures within the tax department
- Basic accounting knowledge such as bookkeeping skills, preparing journal entries (debit and credit), and working with trial balances, balance sheets, and income statements
- Develop general Word and Excel skills to prepare necessary work papers, memos, and letters
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Running payrolls
- Calculating payroll tax deposits and preparing quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns
- Entering checks and deposit- Bank reconciliations
- Answering client questions
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
Requirements:
- 2 year degree or equivalent experience, preferably multi-industry experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted principles including accounting techniques and procedures
- Strong working experience with Quickbooks accounting software
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work with multiple deadline, fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to build client relationships and work as an integral part of a team
- Strong analytical, problem solving and follow up skills
